Iām Renato Golia, a software architect from Naples, Italy, living in Stockholm, Sweden, since 2008.
I started my career as a .NET developer and gradually moved through software architecture, technical leadership, consulting, and product development. Today I work as a Software Architect at Dynavox Group, where I work across backend systems, cloud architecture, shared platform capabilities, identity, and the technical foundations used by multiple product teams.
A recurring theme in my work is reducing the amount of infrastructure and framework plumbing application developers need to deal with. That has taken different forms over the years: shared libraries and templates, cloud platforms, API tooling, deployment infrastructure, and architectural patterns that make systems easier to evolve and operate.
Outside my primary role, I founded Insight Architectures, through which I develop and operate independent products including Xilo.
I also maintain a number of open-source .NET projects and packages, mostly around AWS, ASP.NET Core, APIs, and developer tooling. Some of them have been in use for many years and have accumulated significant adoption. Read more about my open-source work.

About this blog
I use this blog to write about problems I encounter while building and operating real systems.
The articles are aimed at experienced developers. I try to stay concrete, explain the trade-offs, and avoid presenting an approach as cleaner or better without saying what it improves and what it costs.
Outside work, I enjoy board games, video games, photography, and science-fiction and fantasy books.
